Intermediate Lessons
Suitable for anyone who's completed a beginners course, or who can parallel turn in at least one direction:
- Turns and Stops - starts Sunday 29th January, 11.00-13.00
Speed for Fitness and Streetskating
is all about learning how to skate fast with efficient technique. Perfect
for keeping up on the street skates, or for learning how to skate your first
marathon. It includes a detailed personal video review of your technique.
Turns and stops covers advanced turns, tighter and faster than before,
crossovers, and
many ways of stopping without using a heel brake. Perfect for turning and
burning like a hockey or speed skater.
Backwards covers from basic to advanced backwards, transitions (turning
forwards<->backwards), backwards turns, and backwards crossovers.
Long slow skates - these sessions involve skating
for an hour to build base fitness, as well as working on technique. You'll
be better able to maintain good technique as you tire, and you'll gain speed
from both fitness and technique improvements.
The intermediate courses tend to have a wider range of abilities present, and
each course is adapted based on the skaters attending to ensure that all skaters
learn at appropriate levels of skill.
